Instrument

Cello

When did you start playing your instrument?

The third grade.

What do you do when you’re not playing in the LSO?

I sell books and paper ephemera online as a partner in Classic Books and Ephemera.

When, or how, did you come to join the orchestra?

As a Lansdowne resident when I started playing again after an 18-year break, the LSO seemed like the logical place to play.

Do you play in any other musical groups?

I’m principal in the Lower Merion Symphony, I have a regular string quartet, and I almost never say no to any other opportunities to play.

Do you come from a musical family?

My mother was a school music teacher and plays piano and organ.  My father played trumpet in the Ohio State marching band.  My brother is a drummer and writes music for his band in L.A.

Are you originally from Lansdowne/Philadelphia?

I grew up in northcentral Ohio, but I’ve lived in Lansdowne as long as I lived in my hometown, and I’ve lived in SE Pa. longer than I’ve lived anywhere else.

Who is your favorite superhero?
