Instrument

Violin

When did you start playing your instrument?

Age 7.

What do you do when you’re not playing in the LSO?

I am an actuary, specializing in small business retirement consulting. I am also a self-described softball phenom.

When, or how, did you come to join the orchestra?

I am an Upper Darby native, and an alumni of the Upper Darby Concert Choir, so I have been an LSO fan for many years! When I moved back to town in 2014, Herold Klein encouraged me to become an LSO regular.

Do you play in any other musical groups?

I “freelance” occasionally, but the LSO is my only regularly meeting group.

Do you come from a musical family?

I do – I am the youngest of three, and we all were involved in music from a young age.

Does the instrument you play on have a story?

My violin was made by the same violin maker who made my childhood teacher’s instrument, and that to me is a very special connection. I have been playing on it for almost 10 years now.

Are you originally from Lansdowne/Philadelphia?

Technically, I grew up in Drexel Hill, but our next door neighbors lived in Lansdowne!

Who is your favorite superhero?

The caped crusader, the dark knight, Bruce Wayne…. BATMAN
