When did you start playing your instrument?
The third grade.
What do you do when you’re not playing in the LSO?
I’m a psychology professor and have two young children, so much of my time is spent teaching, writing, and crawling around on the floor (not usually at the same time).
When, or how, did you come to join the orchestra?
I looked for amateur orchestras the summer before we moved to Philadelphia. The LSO was the only one I contacted, and I’m so happy that I did!
Do you play in any other musical groups?
No orchestras – just chamber music groups. I did sing in the Mendelssohn Club when I first moved to Philadelphia – until 2 rehearsal nights a week became too much.
Do you come from a musical family?
Yes. My mom’s family was all very musical – I grew up with an uncle who played piano concertos for fun, a grandmother who played the standar ds on the piano at every family gathering, and several family members who played jazz – often together (on piano, drums, and trumpet).
Are you originally from Lansdowne/Philadelphia?
No, I am from LA.
